What do volunteers do?
Full Time volunteers come from around the world in order to commit their time, skills, energy and enthusiasm to promoting English language education in Chilean public schools.
Volunteers are:
- Partnered with a Chilean head teacher
- Spend 25 hours a week in the classroom
- Spend an additional 10 hours each week leading an extracurricular activity
Additionally, during their stay in Chile, volunteers live with a host family, allowing them to become fully integrated in the community, learn Spanish, and facilitate cross cultural exchange.

Part-time volunteers are university exchange students who devote twelve to sixteen hours a week to assisting a Chilean English teacher in his or her classroom. Please visit the Part Time Program page for more information.
Spanish in Chile Participants
Individuals who participate in this program take a month of intensive Spanish classes in Santiago and volunteer at an English camp for gifted Chilean public school students. For more information, please visit the Spanish in Chile page.
