BULATS Spanish Test
Volunteers who participate in the E-learning Spanish Class, complete their tutorial, and return to Santiago for the end-of-service activities are eligible to take a Business Language Testing Service (BULATS) assessment at no extra cost. BULATS measures reading, listening, and writing skills associated with the business world and is recognized by organizations in over 30 countries. The test is certified by Cambridge ESOL, an internationally recognized organization. BULATS gives volunteers a quantifiable measure of their language abilities and offers them credibility when interviewing with future employers. The English Opens Doors Program is now an official administrator of the BULATS test, helping volunteers to measure and market the Spanish they learned during their time in Chile.
Volunteers can take BULATS at the end of their volunteer service only if they have completed the Spanish tutorial.
Volunteers taking the Spanish in Chile Course have the chance to take BULATS twice: once at the beginning of the course and a second time at the end of their volunteer service.
